2006 Disabled Snowsports Festival
and Cardrona National Championships
Disabled skiers and snowboarders, friends, family and supporters from NZ and Australia celebrated 30 years of Disabled Snowsports in New Zealand with us at the 2006 Snowsports Festival & Championship Week.
Festival Activities included ...
Lots of free-skiing or boarding, one-on-one lessons, mountain tours, fun obstacle course, apres ski, group instruction clinics focusing on particular aspects of riding (i.e. trying the blue runs, going off-piste, introduction to racing) and lots more.
The Cardrona National Championships, held for elite and social racers
Elite events - Alpine Super G, Giant Slalom and Slalom races
Social events - Giant Slalom, Slalom, Boarder-X, Gravity-X and fun equaliser race

Annual Awards Dinner
This fun evening was held at the end of the Festival week (Friday 28 July) with the participants of the Festival and our supporters celebrating the best of Disabled Snowsports. This evening incorporated the Annual Awards prize giving with a dinner and dancing into the night with the Lucky Legs Experience - a fantastic local band. Thanks to Coca Cola, Speights and Vicky Spearing of Harcourts Wanaka for their sponsorship of this Evening.
